Hi. I'm Lorraine, a fully qualified upholsterer and member of the Association of Master Upholsterers and Soft Furnishers, working in Cornwall and specialising in traditional, artisan upholstery techniques.
What’s upholstery? Put simply, it’s the art of uniting padding and materials with a piece of furniture to give it proper form and structure. But obviously, it’s much more than that. Upholstery is about personality. It can be comforting and forgiving, or splendid and elegant, or smooth and stylish. It can be adventurous or exuberant or charming, even a bit cheeky.
I'm an upholsterer, but i like to think what I really do is help you express the character of your home or workplace by bringing treasured furniture back to life, reimagining family favourites and helping to create striking new designs - all with gorgeous fabrics, a fine eye for detail, and just a touch of craft.
